Dunedin's Bee yü skincare received some “fantastic” news recenlty when its Cleanse Tighten and Regenerate Masque won the Best Face Masque category at the prestigious Attracta Beauty Awards in London.
The win is particularly exciting because the awards were founded by internationally renowned make-up artist Attracta Courtney and are judged by some of the world’s leading beauty professionals.
“An award like this is a fabulous result for such a young New Zealand company, and shows that we can foot it with the best world natural luxury brands.” says Sally Richards, one of Bee yü's Directors.
“We have come up with a great range of products that New Zealanders have been quick to embrace, so it’s really exciting to have the industry experts who really know beauty agree with us too.”
Sally says the key to Bee yü’s success is a unique formula that is based on high grade UMF20+ manuka honey and a selection of special botanicals from New Zealand and around the world.
“Everyone is learning that manuka honey has amazing medicinal and restorative powers, and that forms the basis of Bee yü’s skincare range. But we make it extra special by including bee venom, and botanicals like pohutakawa, kiwifruit, harakeke and totarol extract to boost regeneration – it’s natural and very, very good. Our point of difference is also the concentration of ingredients – there’s simply more of the good stuff!”
Bee yü hopes the award will help lift the profile of the young company, which is already exporting to the United Kingdom and is presently negotiating a contract in China.
